Hay hay! Again, this is me and my bestfriend, Jabar. Sorry for this quite late post, actually we visited the Ijo Temple in September 5th, five days before Idul Fitri. We quite late arrived in Candi Ijo, and we missed the sunrise! Hiks.
Candi Ijo (Ijo Temple) is located in the south not so far form Kraton Ratu Boko. This temple was built in 9th century during Hindu Mataram era. Candi Ijo well-known as temple located in the highest elevation, so you can see the aerial view of Jogja (really? I couldn’t see it clearly because there are too many trees covering the panorama). One notable feature of the temple is its layout, which features a main structure fronted by three smaller buildings that were probably dedicated to the Hindu Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Additional ruins are located further down the western slope of the hill that has not been reconstructed. (http://www.borobudur.tv/ijo.htm)
Yepp, enough for the formal introduction. Because of the high elevation, you could reach the temple by motorcycle, but make sure that your motorcycle is strong enough to hike. Hahahahaha!!!
We were not only visit the temple, because the view around it is also breathtaking. Take “tempat mesum gratis” as one of the example. We by coincidence passed this eye-catching point and stopped by to take picture of the letter there. But Jabar found out that the panorama behind the huge rock is sooooo…. GREAT!!
But after we took some pictures, people look at us like we has just finish doing “something dirty” there. O-M-G!!!
Still, we're practicing photography here....Most of the photos were taken by Jabar (except photos of him were taken by me) and all pictures are not Photoshop-ed yet. I’m welcome if there is any technical comments from you, どうぞ。。。
